I believe that when people spend 10-15 hours together because they want to create something, there is affection. I see that affection is the basis of this project, art, participatory experience. Affection is a key element of this process (Marinella Senatore)

I came from the quad youth forum, having never done any acting before only at school plays. Acting in stage and in front of camera was very nerve wracking but I have learned a great deal (Emily, Actor and Youth Forum member)

The final film will show everything-not just the shooting days. The final outcome will show every step, from the first day I came to talk at QUAD until the final closing of the set on the last day

If you hadn’t been there, it couldn’t have happened. It’s about everyone’s contributions nudging the project on and on

To go back 20 years, to an environment which I love, it was quite emotional” (Maggie, volunteer)

Thank you Marinella. We will miss you

Thank you Marinella. We will miss you

So far we have shot over 180 hrs of footage! Now we Marinella has a huge task to edit the final film which will be screened on the 20th sept in derby 6pm. Book free tickets from QUAD box office

we are very grateful to all the partners and support that everyone has generously given to the project a huge list of thanks

The derby soap opera is something that I will look back on for all my life - I have learnt so much, not only the skills but how I have grown as a person. (Jodie)

In the casting sessions we had a very emotional time, it was wonderful for people to share something of their lives. Collective and private memory, what it is we care about . genuine moments are so rare, we are very proud to have had so many people open themselves to the process

We weren’t just working on a movie, we have created a libretto, an installation, a public performance, a social engagement with citizens. Not just a movie. it is something thousands of people have worked together on. We have built a new community

So far we estimate over 15,000 people have engaged with and contributed to this incredible project

Without even one of the participants taking part the project would have been different not only aesthetically but also in terms of meaning. Everyone played an important valued role in the whole project
